It is with a heavy heart and sorrow that we are now officially closed for business.

Since we opened in June 2021, we have had several water leaks from the flats above our shop, none of which were fault of our own and each occurrence required repairs / caused closures to our business. The most recent leak happened in September 2023 and resulted in:

  • One of our ceilings collapsing.

  • One of our floatation pods being destroyed.

  • The floors throughout our unit requiring replacement.

  • The fire management and security systems requiring replacement.

  • All internal wood furnishings requiring replacement, including seating and display units.

  • Cloud 9 being forced to close permanently until our insurance claim could be resolved and the building being safe again for our customers.

Unfortunately, throughout this ordeal, our landlord has decided to bury his head in the sand and refused take any responsibility for the poor plumbing within his building or support his tenants. We are now forced to go through court litigation to try and get our money back and expose the landlord for the negligence he has shown towards us and the other tenants in his building, which he has evicted.

Our insurance provider has agreed to pay some form of compensation for the closure, and we have chosen to use these funds to provide refunds to as many customers as possible. This timeframe is limited to any purchases made from the 1st September 2023 to date. If you have made a purchase through during this time, please get in touch via email (info@cloud9floatation.com) with proof of purchase and the bank details for where the refund should be paid, we will then process the refund accordingly. Please bear with us during this difficult time.

We would like to thank each and every one of you who has been in, bought a gift voucher, tried our own branded products or simply helped spread the positive message of Floatation Therapy. It has been a pleasure meeting you all and seeing the benefits from our award-winning services.

Best wishes,

Cloud 9 Team

WHAT IS FLOATING?

Floatation therapy uses a combination of water and Epsom salts,
simulating the feeling of weightlessness and pure calm.

Our float pods are big, really big in fact…They are the same size as a double bed so you have plenty of room to stretch out, either with the lid open or shut. The water in each pod contains over half a tonne of Epsom salt (magnesium sulphate), allowing you to float effortlessly, similar to the Dead Sea.
The temperature of the water matches that of your skin and the floating time is typically 60-minutes but we offer other times too. Each session includes additional time after to shower and change so please allow up to 80-minutes for your visit.

After the induction process, the treatment room door will be locked and you will be left in peace during your session.
Ambient music, such as spa, rainfall or beach tones will play for the first 10 minutes to ease you into the session and again for the final 5 minutes to let you know that the session is coming to an end. Alternatively, you can have the music play throughout your float.

You have a light in the pod itself as well as an emergency call button, both can be used at your discretion.

Free from sensory input and the outside world, the muscular-skeletal system and sympathetic nervous system wind down into a state of deep relaxation and serenity, in which the body and mind can heal and replenish - resulting in many benefits, such as reduced stress, muscle injury repair and a better quality of sleep to name a few.

The Epsom salt improves magnesium levels as well as providing sulphates, which are difficult to get from food but are easily absorbed through the skin.
Sulphates play a vital role in the formation of brain tissue, protein in our joints and the lining of the digestive system – all of which help us live a long and healthy life.

WHAT DO OUR CUSTOMERS SAY?

WHAT ABOUT THE SCIENCE?

Science.jpg

“Studies conducted over the years have shown effects such as diminished pain from chronic muscle tension, reduced anxiety, depression & stress, as well as increased energy.

After flotation, people are happier, sleep better and consume less alcohol and medicine. The method is also included in the final report of the rehabilitation council on ‘multimodal treatment programmes’ for stress-related illness.”
